Kim Kardashian West returns to social media three months on from Paris robbery

Kim Kardashian West has returned to social media following a three month silence, posting a family photo on Instagram.
The 36-year-old shared the picture of her alongside husband Kanye West and their two children, three-year-old daughter North and one-year-old son Saint.
The photo, which shows the group all dressed in white and standing on a wooden porch, is believed to have been taken in Oklahoma City as they took a New Year trip to Kanye's mother Donda West's grave.
Formerly ever-present on social media, Kardashian West stopped tweeting and posting photos and videos on Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook after being held up and robbed of millions of dollars worth of jewellery during Paris Fashion Week.
The reality TV star was tied up and threatened at gunpoint by an armed gang, before being left bound and gagged on 3 October..
Her family snap is her first post on Instagram since the attack.
She also briefly changed her Twitter handle from Kim Kardashian West to simply 'Kim', but apparently changed her mind and swiftly reverted back to her full married name.
There has been much speculation over the rumoured breakdown of her marriage to rapper Kanye West after he spent time in hospital in November.
Kardashian West is believed to be returning to work this month with a scheduled trip to Dubai, according to celebrity website TMZ.

At least 100 injured after rush hour Brooklyn train derails

At least 100 people have been injured after a rush hour train derailed in Brooklyn, officials have said.
Approximately 600 people were on board the Long Island Rail Road train when it came off its tracks at Atlantic Terminal in New York City at around 8.30am (1.30pm GMT).
Images from the terminal show the train tipped at an angle, with splintered wood, fire extinguishers and other debris on the floor.
One passenger said the scene was "total chaos".
"I was getting up from my seat, there was a loud impact and I flew forward and then flew backward," she told CBS News.
She added: "There was smoke on the train, and we were sitting there in shock."
The cause of the crash at one of New York's busiest stations is under investigation.
The derailment comes four months after a train crash at a station in Hoboken, New Jersey, which killed a woman and injured 114 others

Fenerbahce will offer Nigerian international striker Emmanuel Emenike to Sunderland according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik. The Yellow Canaries are keen on offloading Emenike over the winter transfer window.

Fenerbahce want to sign Jeremain Lens on a permanent deal or extend his loan deal by another season and will use Emenike as a bargaining chip to present a more attractive offer to Sunderland. Emenike has been in good form for the Istanbul giants scoring seven times and providing four assists in 20 games but he is behind the pecking order with Robin van Persie and Moussa Sow ahead of him.

How FG can tackle smuggling of agric produce —Dangote

An agro-businessman, Alhaji Sani Dangote, has advised the Federal Government to put in place fresh policies that will bring lasting solution to the problem of smuggling of agricultural products into the country.

Dangote, President, Nigerian Agibusiness Group, NABG, gave the advice in an interview with Vanguard, yesterday, in Abuja. He said such step would lower interest rates, make more funding available for food production, and incentivize local farmers and local agro-industries to process Nigerian farm produce. The agro-businessman said there were lots of bottlenecks affecting the funding for primary agricultural production in the long or medium term periods and these factors hinder government’s success in the fight against smuggling of agricultural products into the country. He said: “What government should do most importantly is to bring in the right policies that will incentivize local productivity, lower interest rates, make more funding available, incentivize the local farmers and agro-industries to process our own local products. “Government should also bring development tariffs and levies against those groups that are still making problem for our local capacity building.  All areas where we have a local-capacity, government should look at it as necessary areas to encourage and incentivize.”

Charles Manson taken out of prison and hospitalised

NOTORIOUS cult leader Charles Manson has left prison, where he is serving a life sentence, to be taken to hospital for treatment.
TMZ reported that Manson was rushed from California’s Corcoran State Prison to the ER to get treatment for gastrointestinal issues. He was reportedly taken to Bakersfield hospital — about an hour away from the jail.
According to the LA Times, a source said Manson was seriously ill. But they did not provide any further information.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation told the New York Daily News that privacy laws prevent them from commenting on inmates’ health.
Manson and his followers committed a series of nine murders at four locations over a period of five weeks in the summer of 1969. In 1971 he was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders of seven people.
One of his accomplices, Patricia Krenwinkel, who is the longest-serving female inmate in California, had her parole hearing suspended just before the New Year after the Board of Parole Hearings wanted to investigate claims she was the victim of battered women’s syndrome.

Debra Tate, the sister of actor Sharon Tate who was murdered by Krenwinkel and other Manson followers who also killed her unborn baby, said she didn’t believe the claims saying Krenwinkel was free to leave the cult at any time.
And just last year founding member of the Beach Boys Mike Love cast suspicion there could be another unknown Manson victim. Love made the bizarre and startling claims about Manson in his book Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy.
Love detailed his experiences with Manson in the memoir and says that bandmate Dennis Wilson claimed to have witnessed Manson shoot and kill a man in 1969, People reported.
Retired Los Angeles County prosecutor Stephen Kay, who helped convict Manson, doubted the claims were true.

Janet Jackson gives birth to first child at 50

The singer, 50, and husband Wissam Al Mana, 42, welcomed a baby boy to the world on Tuesday, reports People.
“Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” a rep for Jackson said in a statement, before adding: “[She] had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”
As is her custom, the That’s the Way Love Goes singer has mostly avoided the spotlight during her pregnancy. But in late November she took to Twitter to update her fans on how things were going, tweeting, “Hey you guys … It’s been awhile … but I’m still listening. I feel your love and prayers. Thank you. and I’m doing well. Al Hamdu lillah.”
In April of last year, she cancelled her remaining comeback tour dates, and announced plans to start a family.
“We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change ... My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour,” she said in a video message to her fans at the time. “Please, if you can, try to understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up; doctor’s orders.”
Jackson and Al Mana wed in 2012. This is the couple’s first child.

Johnny Depp claims Amber Heard is using him ‘to extend her fifteen minutes of fame’

The Pirates of the Carribean actor, 53, has blasted his ex-wife, accusing her of using him to try and stay famous.
It comes as his legal team filed documents refusing Heard’s request to renegotiate the terms of their split, following their original $A9.6 million settlement.
As reported by TMZ, Depp’s lawyer, Laura Wasser says the 30-year-old actress’ move is a “blatant attempt to extend her fifteen minutes of fame” and “an embarrassing grab for additional and unwarranted” lawyer’s fees.
Just before Christmas, it was reported that Depp was demanding his ex pay $140,000 towards his lawyer's fees and costs
At the time, Wasser questioned Heard’s behaviour, claiming the actress acted “erratically” and “uncooperatively” throughout the case. The lawyer also said Heard’s court filing of a Request for Order last month was “entirely unnecessary.”
The actress’ legal team had claimed Depp has failed to pay the first and second instalments in their settlement, which was supposed to be paid out over 12 months.
But Wasser denied any wrongdoing.
“The impact of her [Heard’s] relentless pursuit on Johnny — the damage her false allegations have caused his personal and professional reputation, his and his family’s emotional wellbeing, and his finances — appears to be of no interest to Amber,” she stated in the court filing.
In the Request for Order motion, Heard’s team implored the court to order Depp to uphold his end of their divorce settlement.
According to documents obtained by ET, the former couple previously signed a Deal Point Memorandum, outlining what each party would pay and responsibilities they had to uphold, but Heard’s lawyers claimed Depp has not followed through on several points listed in their agreement.
