Phillip Coutinho to become the highest paid Liverpool player ever
Philippe Coutinho has committed his long-term future to Liverpool by signing the biggest contract in the club’s history.
The Brazil international, who has blossomed into the key figure in the current Liverpool team, has put pen to paper on a deal worth more than £200,000 per week that will keep him at the club until 2022.
Coutinho arrived at Anfield four years ago and his performances have alerted top clubs across Europe to his ability but he is settled on Liverpool with his young family and has a strong relationship with Klopp.
Manager Klopp said of Coutinho: ‘I think everyone knows what a great footballer Phil is, that is not in question — but not everyone sees what an incredibly positive character he is and what a big influence he is on the dressing room’.

Senator wants corruption ‘legalised and liberalised’
A Nigerian senator has asked the country’s senate to legalise corruption, in spite of it being one of the major problems confronting one of Africa’s largest economy.
Senator Yele Omogunwa (APC-Ondo South) spoke during plenary on Wednesday while contributing to the upper chamber’s debate on the 2017 budget.
Noting that pass federal budgets have had little or no impacts on the Nigerian people because of pervasive corruption, the senator stated that legalising and liberalising it would be better.
Omogunwa was elected a senator on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in November 2017, a party that kicked out PDP from the centre owing to its campaign promise to stamp out corruption.
Madonna appears in High Court in Malawi to apply to adopt two more children
Pop superstar Madonna has filed for the adoption of two more children from Malawi, it has emerged.
The 58-year-old singer appeared before a High Court judge in the capital Lilongwe on Wednesday to make the application.
Madonna appeared before Justice Fiona Mwale amid tight security, accompanied by two unidentified children and several other people, before being driven away in an SUV vehicle.
According to local reports, she arrived by private jet with her entourage and is said to have block booked the exclusive Kumbali Country Lodge before the court appearance.
She was spotted as she entered at the court when she entered judges chambers and was later seen carrying a child, believed to be one of the two she wants to adopt.
One of her entourage was said to be carrying another child, according to Nyasa Times, and the singer was driven off in a KIA Sportage SUV.
Madonna's trip to Malawi last year was the first time in nearly two years that she visited the country, where she has at times been embroiled in controversy after her earlier adoptions.
She was stripped of her VIP status by former president Joyce Banda's government in 2013 and accused of being 'uncouth' and wanting eternal gratitude from the impoverished country for adopting the two children.
But Banda was ousted in 2014 elections and the new president, Peter Mutharika, moved to repair relations, saying 'my government has always been grateful for the passion Madonna has for this country'.
Last July, Madonna said she would not revive plans for a $15 million academy for girls in Malawi, which was cancelled amid allegations of mismanagement - leading to her tiff with Banda.
It is now up to the court to decide whether to grant the adoption order, Malawi government spokesman Mlenga Mvula said.
The singer will have to wait a week before hearing the decision on her application. It is unclear whether she will wait in the country until the decision is made.
Madonna adopted David Banda, now 11, in 2008 and a year later adopted Mercy James, now aged 10.
The pop star in 2006 founded the charity Raising Malawi to address the poverty and hardship endured by this southern African country's orphans and vulnerable children.
In July, Madonna and her family visited the African nation as she checked on the progress of a medical centre she is supporting in the southern city of Blantyre.
The proud mother posted pictures of her with son Rocco, eldest daughter Lourdes, and David and Mercy as they toured the country.
In the same month, David's father said he had healed his rift with the superstar.

Mr Sunday Olaosebikan on Wednesday approached an Igando Customary Court in Lagos to end his seven - year -old marriage to his wife, Mutiatu , for allegedly demanding for money before sex
He told the court, “My wife always refuses me sex until she collects N 500.
“This, I am sure, is why she has not conceived after the birth of our only child, who is six- year old now.
“I am tired of paying N500 per round before having sex with my wife, please dissolve the union.
He further told the court said that Mutiatu always threatens to kill him.
He said, “My wife is after my life, she stabs me with dangerous weapons whenever we have misunderstanding.
“She once stabbed me with a broken bottle on my head and I bled heavily which landed me in the hospital.
“ Mutiatu used our kitchen knife as pillow , when I queried her; she said her pastor instructed her to use it against bad dreams.
“ Many a times when I request for sex or during argument, she brings the knife out threatening to stab me .
“ She is just aggressive and violent in nature ; she may kill me if I continue with the marriage.
“ Because of her violent nature , I ran away from the house to avoid untimely death . ”
He said that his family ejected his wife from his house for fear of unknown but that she came back begging, adding that he pitied her and accepted her back.
He said , “ I accepted my wife back because I thought she had learnt her lesson , but she refused to change, instead she is getting worse day by day. ”
The petitioner also said that his wife failed to respect him.
“ My wife does not obey my orders ; she always tells me that I cannot control her because we are age mate. ”
He said that because of his wife ’ s bad behaviour , she could not get a steady job.
“ Employers always sack her when she exhibited her character. ’’
Olaorebikan begged the court to terminate the marriage.
The respondent was not in the court for her defence.
The President of the court , Mr Adegboyega Omilola , therefore , ordered bailiff to serve her another summon to appear in court and adjourned the case to Feb. 28 for further hearing.

Mikel Obi Loses Father-In-Law
Russian millionaire, Diyanchecko who is the father of Mikel’s significant other, Olga died after a long-term illness.
Mikel Obi and Olga are reportedly married.
Olga took to Instagram to announce her father’s death. She shared a photo of him rocking one of her twin girls and wrote; ‘ “we said our last goodbye to you today daddy you were not just extraordinary as so many said today. You were a legendary man, father, friend, companion, husband and grandpa. Your strong hand is holding my hand for life. I love you My rock, my life my Dad Rest in Peace monkeypops,”
Mikel Obi hasn’t spoken about the loss.

Apostle Johnson Suleiman of the Omega Fire Ministries World wide, OFM, has warned that if he spends just one day in DSS custody, it would take Nigeria one year to repair the damages.
The fire-brand cleric said this in an interview with newsmen after being rescued from DSS arrest by the Ekiti state Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Suicide Bombers Attempts on Mosque and Security Post Foiled In Borno
Attempts by Suicide Bombers to attack a mosque and a security post in Borno State were foiled by vigilant security men and volunteers.PRNigeria gathered that the incidents occurred at Usmanti and Kaleri area of Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State. The first attack occurred late midnight of Tuesday, January 24, 2017, when the suicide bomber targeted a security outpost in the area but was quickly spotted and was blown off after a shot from securitymen. No casualty was involved except the male suicide bomber.
The second attempt occurred during the early morning prayer at 5:30 am today when two suicide bombers, a male, and female, attempted to enter a mosque while prayer was on.

They were spotted by security volunteers (Civilian JTF) who accosted them. The terrorists detonated their explosives which killed them on the spot and one security volunteer. Two other people were injured.
Meanwhile the Spokesperson of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the North-East, Abdulkadir Ibrahim confirmed that rescue workers have evacuated the bodies to mortuary after the incidents.

Hanne Gaby Odiele, a 29 year old Belgian model has announced that she is intersex and an advocate for interACT which is a cause founded to create awareness and help other intersex youths.
Being intersex is a term given to a person who was born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t fit the typical definitions of male or female- some have genitalia that appear to be female on the outside with mostly male anatomy and vice-versa. An estimated 0.05% and 1.7% of the world’s population is born with intersex traits.
